Privacy
Data stored on your device
Omnibrary stores the Plex session you approve, app preferences, layout, local playlists, bounded playback history, download records, downloaded media, a local Describe search index, and Game Deck progress in the app’s private device storage. Plex credentials are stored using Android encrypted storage. Plex library records are scoped by profile and server on each headset. Game Deck progress and website data belong to the app on that headset and are not separated by Plex profile.
Communication with Plex
The app communicates directly with Plex-operated services and the Plex Media Server connections associated with your account to link the device, discover servers, browse metadata, stream or download media, report playback progress, and change watched state. Omnibrary does not operate an intermediary media or account service. A local Plex server may use cleartext HTTP only when Plex marks the connection local and the host is on a private or explicitly local network; other authenticated connections require HTTPS. Omnibrary does not forward Plex credentials across redirects or to a different media origin.
Local videos and optional subtitles
When you add a local video, Omnibrary keeps a reference and read permission for the file you select. It does not upload the video or modify the original. Optional 3D preparation stores derived depth data on the headset.
Where OpenSubtitles is configured, searching sends the search text, language, and available year or season and episode numbers to OpenSubtitles. Choosing a result requests that subtitle file from the provider and saves it locally. Plex credentials and the video itself are not sent to OpenSubtitles.
Optional Game Deck web browser
When you open a website in Game Deck, Android WebView connects to that website and any resources it loads. Those services receive normal web requests, including your IP address and any information you enter. Search words entered in the address bar are sent to Google Search. Websites and search providers handle that information under their own privacy policies and may use advertising or analytics.
Websites may save cookies, cached content, and local website storage in Omnibrary’s app storage. Third-party cookies are blocked. Closing Game Deck or signing out of Plex does not clear saved website data or sign you out of websites. The browser does not provide access to the headset’s camera, microphone, location, file uploads, or downloads.
Meta platform reporting
Meta may process store, installation, platform crash, and ANR information under Meta’s own terms and privacy notices. Omnibrary does not add a separate analytics or crash provider.
Diagnostic export
You can explicitly create a ZIP containing app/build versions, Spatial SDK and Media3 versions, headset/OS model, relative timestamps, typed state transitions, codec/MIME/resolution/decoder metadata, and categorized error codes. It is never uploaded automatically and is designed not to contain titles, profile or server identity, addresses, URLs, access tokens, link codes, or media filenames. You decide whether and how to share it.
Retention and deletion
Signing out removes the saved Plex session; it does not delete downloads and other local files. Remove individual items in the app, choose Delete all local Omnibrary data, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall it to remove the corresponding local data. See deletion instructions. Delete all local Omnibrary data also removes Game Deck progress, saved website cookies and storage, and the Describe search index. It does not delete a Plex or website account, data held by those services, or copies you exported or shared outside the app.
